<p class="" data-start="883" data-end="1350"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Gaza health officials reported that at least 109 people were killed and 216 wounded in northern Gaza on Friday due to Israeli bombardments. The renewed escalation follows Israel&rsquo;s resumption of military operations on March 18, after a short lull. Since then, 2,985 Palestinians have been killed and 8,173 injured. In total, since the conflict began in October 2023, 53,119 people have died and 120,214 have been wounded in Gaza, according to local health authorities.</span></p>
<p class="" data-start="1352" data-end="1548"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">On Thursday, Hamas accused Israel of ignoring ongoing ceasefire negotiations and instead increasing military pressure on civilians, calling it a "desperate attempt to impose its terms under fire."</span></p>
<p class="" data-start="1550" data-end="1924"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">The war began on October 7, 2023, when Hamas launched coordinated land, sea, and air attacks on Israel, resulting in over 1,200 deaths&mdash;mostly Israeli civilians&mdash;and the abduction of more than 240 people. It was the deadliest single day for Israel since its founding. The following day, Israel officially declared a state of war for the first time since 1973's Yom Kippur War.</span></p>
