As ceasefire negotiations continue in Doha, Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz has doubled down on Israel&rsquo;s stance, stating that the country must push for &ldquo;full victory&rdquo; in the Gaza war.
Speaking alongside military chief Eyal Zamir and top commanders, Katz emphasised the importance of neutralising threats in Gaza and Yemen, while achieving key war objectives&mdash;most notably, the safe return of all Israeli hostages and the dismantling of Hamas.
&ldquo;We are closer than ever to achieving our goals,&rdquo; Katz stated, even as Israeli media reported substantial progress in the Doha talks.
The Minister also cautioned about a potential renewed conflict with Iran and stressed the importance of safeguarding recent military achievements. He urged a strategic enforcement plan to prevent Iran from reviving its nuclear and missile programs.
Katz further defended Israel's continued military deployment in sensitive areas such as Syria, Lebanon, and the West Bank refugee camps, calling them vital for national security. He affirmed that operations could expand to additional camps if necessary.
As the world watches diplomatic efforts unfold, Israel maintains a hardline military posture, signalling that peace may hinge on its conditions being met.
