Footage from the site captured raging flames as emergency responders struggled to contain the blaze. According to Israeli daily Ha'aretz, the power station supplying steam and electricity to Bazan&rsquo;s facilities sustained heavy damage. The company, in a statement to the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, confirmed all refinery and subsidiary operations had been halted pending damage assessment.
The strike is part of an intensifying four-day conflict between Iran and Israel that has claimed at least 244 lives in Iran and 24 in Israel. Tensions soared after Israel launched surprise airstrikes on Iranian territory last Friday.
Iran retaliated with another missile attack early Monday, killing eight people and injuring dozens more. The assault triggered air raid sirens nationwide. In Haifa, black smoke blanketed the skyline.
In Petah Tikva, east of Tel Aviv, four civilians died after a missile struck a residential complex. Mayor Rami Greenberg confirmed evacuations of hundreds of residents from the affected and neighbouring buildings, which bore extensive blast damage.
As the violence escalates, both nations brace for further fallout amid growing international concern.
