<h1 class="text-2xl font-bold mt-1 text-text-100">Iran Executes Man Convicted of Israeli Espionage</h1>
<p class="whitespace-normal break-words">Iranian authorities executed a man on Sunday who had been convicted of acting as an agent for Israel's Mossad intelligence service, according to the country's judiciary.</p>
<p class="whitespace-normal break-words">Majid Mosayebi was hanged on Sunday morning after completing the full criminal procedure process and having his sentence confirmed by the Supreme Court, the judiciary's Mizan Online website announced.</p>
<p class="whitespace-normal break-words">The judiciary stated that Mosayebi had been accused of attempting to provide "sensitive information" to the Mossad, though authorities did not specify when he was initially arrested.</p>
<p class="whitespace-normal break-words">The execution comes amid a tenth day of ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel, which began with Israel's campaign against Iranian nuclear and military facilities on 13th June.</p>
<p class="whitespace-normal break-words">Since the start of the Israeli offensive, Iranian authorities have conducted multiple arrests of individuals suspected of espionage activities. On Saturday, police in Iran's Qom province reported the arrest of 22 people allegedly "linked to Israeli spy services" since 13th June.</p>
<p class="whitespace-normal break-words">The head of police intelligence in Qom province said the arrests were made on charges of being connected to what Iran terms "the Zionist regime's spy services," disturbing public opinion, and supporting what they called "the criminal regime."</p>
<p class="whitespace-normal break-words">On Sunday, judiciary spokesman Asghar Jahangir announced that three additional people had been arrested in the western province of Kermanshah on espionage allegations. He credited the arrests to "the rapid presence of the population and their assistance to the intelligence services, law enforcement agencies and judicial officers."</p>
<p class="whitespace-normal break-words">Jahangir noted that one of those arrested is believed to be a national of a European country.</p>
<p class="whitespace-normal break-words">The spokesman also announced that "special judicial branches would be formed" within provincial prosecutors' offices and courts to handle Israeli-linked espionage cases on what he described as an "extraordinary" basis.</p>
<p class="whitespace-normal break-words">According to human rights organisations including Amnesty International, Iran ranks as the world's second most prolific executioner after China.</p>
