India has welcomed US President Donald Trump&rsquo;s 20-point peace plan aimed at ending the Israel-Hamas conflict, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi describing it as a pathway for long-term stability in West Asia. The initiative calls for a ceasefire, release of hostages, and redevelopment of Gaza under international oversight.
Unveiled at the White House alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the proposal outlines a staged withdrawal of Israeli forces, full humanitarian aid deliveries, and the creation of a temporary &ldquo;International Stabilisation Force&rdquo; to manage Gaza. A technocratic committee of Palestinians and international experts, overseen by a &ldquo;Board of Peace&rdquo; led by Trump and global figures such as Tony Blair, will govern the enclave during the transition.
The plan promises amnesty for Hamas members who renounce violence and safe passage for those wishing to leave Gaza. It also includes an economic development strategy to rebuild the region through a special economic zone with preferential trade benefits. Importantly, no one will be forced to leave Gaza, and Israel will not annex the territory.
India&rsquo;s endorsement reflects its longstanding support for a negotiated two-state solution that ensures a sovereign Palestine coexisting peacefully with Israel. New Delhi has historically maintained balanced ties with both parties, condemning terrorism while urging humanitarian aid and dialogue.
By supporting the plan, India reaffirmed its consistent policy of backing initiatives that encourage peace, stability, and reconstruction in the conflict-ridden region.
