The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) have announced the killing of Yassin Abdel Menam Ezz al-Din, a senior Hezbollah commander responsible for artillery operations in Lebanon&rsquo;s Litani sector. The strike was carried out by Israeli aircraft in the Barish area of southern Lebanon.
According to the IDF, al-Din was instrumental in launching multiple artillery attacks on northern Israel and was working to revive Hezbollah&rsquo;s artillery capabilities, which the military says violates Israel-Lebanon agreements.
The IDF posted on X:
&ldquo;Yassin Abdel Menam Ezz al-Din was eliminated in an airstrike. His actions were a direct threat to Israeli civilians and a breach of Lebanon-Israel understandings.&rdquo;
The military further stressed its commitment to countering Hezbollah&rsquo;s actions, stating it would continue operations to eliminate threats arising under the cover of the wider Israel-Iran conflict.
In a separate operation, IDF engineering units demolished the home of Samer Hussein, a Hamas-affiliated militant responsible for a shooting attack in Ariel&rsquo;s Gitti Avishar junction in November 2024. The attack left five civilians and four soldiers injured.
The IDF clarified that the demolition, conducted in Einabus village, aligns with Israel&rsquo;s deterrence policy, under which homes of terrorists involved in major attacks are destroyed, even in the absence of fatalities.
&ldquo;The IDF will continue operations in Judea and Samaria to prevent terror and ensure justice,&rdquo; the statement said.
