Utah Governor Spencer Cox has confirmed that Tyler Robinson, accused of killing conservative commentator Charlie Kirk, is refusing to cooperate with investigators. Robinson, 22, remains in custody and is expected to face formal charges on Tuesday.
The incident occurred during an outdoor event at Utah Valley University, where Kirk was fatally shot in the neck with a single rifle round in front of an audience of 3,000. The attack has intensified concerns over rising political violence in the United States.
Robinson, a third-year student in the electrical apprenticeship program at Dixie Technical College, was arrested at his parents&rsquo; home nearly 260 miles from the crime scene following a 33-hour search. Investigators reported unusual engravings on four bullet casings linked to the shooting. These included references to memes, video game codes, and mocking insults.
Authorities revealed that while Robinson has not provided information, his roommate, described as a romantic partner transitioning from male to female, has been assisting investigators extensively.
The killing of Charlie Kirk, co-founder of Turning Point USA and a close ally of Donald Trump, has further highlighted the deepening political divide across the nation.
