<p data-start="117" data-end="353"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">A Bangladesh Air Force training aircraft crashed into a school building in Dhaka&rsquo;s Uttara area on Monday afternoon, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Bangladesh Armed Forces.</span></p>
<p data-start="355" data-end="540"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">The Chinese-made F-7 BGI training jet took off at 1:06 pm local time and crashed around 1:30 pm into the Milestone School and College building. The impact caused a fire in the building.</span></p>
<p data-start="542" data-end="655"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">The Fire Service confirmed that at least 16-19 people died in the incident. Rescue efforts are ongoing at the site.</span></p>
<p data-start="657" data-end="774"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Four injured individuals were airlifted to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) by a Bangladesh Air Force helicopter.</span></p>
<p data-start="776" data-end="1061"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">A teacher from Milestone College told <em data-start="814" data-end="830">The Daily Star</em> that he was near the building when the aircraft crashed into the front side of the three-storey structure, trapping several students inside. College staff rushed to help before Army personnel and firefighters arrived on the scene.</span></p>
<p data-start="1063" data-end="1214"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Eight fire engines from Uttara, Tongi, Pallabi, Kurmitola, Mirpur, and Purbachal units were deployed for the rescue operation, as per the fire service.</span></p>
<p data-start="1216" data-end="1553" data-is-last-node="" data-is-only-node=""><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Footage circulating on social media shows multiple injured individuals being rescued. They were taken to nearby hospitals, including Uttara Adhunik Hospital, Dhaka Medical College Hospital, Kurmitola General Hospital, Kuwait Bangladesh Friendship Hospital, Uttara Women&rsquo;s Medical College, and Shaheed Monsur Ali Medical College Hospital.</span></p>
