Just a day after the tragic Ahmedabad plane crash, another Air India flight faced a major scare. Flight AI 379, operating from Phuket to Delhi, made an emergency landing in Thailand on Friday morning following a bomb threat onboard.
The flight had departed from Phuket airport at around 9:30 AM local time (2:30 AM IST) but soon after, it circled over the Andaman Sea and returned to the airport. Emergency protocols were immediately activated, and all 156 passengers were safely escorted off the aircraft, officials confirmed.
Authorities carried out a full security check of the aircraft. Fortunately, no explosives were found during the preliminary inspection. However, officials have yet to disclose details about the source or nature of the threat.
