According to the Palestinian news agency WAFA, the leaders discussed political and humanitarian updates amid the ongoing conflict in Gaza. Abbas called for an immediate ceasefire, the release of all hostages and detainees, and the unimpeded flow of humanitarian aid into Gaza.
The Palestinian president condemned Israeli actions such as settlement expansion in the West Bank and Jerusalem, and rejected any annexation efforts or attacks on Islamic and Christian holy sites.
Abbas also advocated for a renewed peace process grounded in UN resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative, proposing an international peace conference in New York to advance the two-state solution.
