Two trains collided in eastern Slovakia on Monday, derailing an engine and a carriage and injuring at least 20 people, according to emergency services and local media reports.
Police footage posted on Facebook showed mangled wreckage, with a locomotive and a carriage lying off the tracks on a hillside as paramedics provided aid to the injured.
Slovakia&rsquo;s rescue service said it had deployed two helicopters and multiple ambulances to the crash site.&nbsp;
Broadcaster TA3 reported that nearby hospitals had activated trauma plans to treat the injured.
Authorities confirmed that around 80 passengers were on board the two trains. 
So far, there have been no reports of fatalities.
Slovak Railways said the collision occurred at a section where two tracks merge into a single line. 
The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.
&ldquo;At this moment, our priority is the rescue and evacuation of passengers and staff,&rdquo; the company said in a statement.
Police added that the crash took place near a tunnel close to the village of Jablonov nad Turnou, approximately 55 km west of Kosice, the main city in eastern Slovakia.
