A gunman shot dead at least 10 people, including two children, in southern Montenegro on Wednesday. 
The mass shooting happened inside a restaurant in Cetinje area following a verbal argument between guests, according to a police official quoted by public broadcaster RTCG.
The attacker then committed suicide by shooting himself. Identified as Aleksandar &ldquo;Aco&rdquo; Martinović, 45, the shooter had initially fled the scene but later fatally injured himself after being surrounded by police, said an official. 
In the wake of the incident, the Montenegro government has declared three days of national mourning from Thursday onwards. Prime Minister Milojko Spajic condoled the shooting and described it as a &ldquo;terrible tragedy&rdquo;.
According to reports, the gunman killed members of his own family, two of the restaurant owner&rsquo;s children and also the owner. Martinović was at the bar throughout the day and was around guests when a brawl broke out between him and another guest. Police said that he went home, brought back the weapon and opened fire at the bar. 
Four people sustained serious injuries in the shooting and are currently battling for their lives at a hospital. Two among those dead were children aged 10 and 13. 
Mass shootings are comparatively rare in the small Balkan nation.
