Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) will file its chargesheet on December 8 in connection with the death of singer-actor Zubeen Garg. He said the report will reveal crucial details and ensure justice for the late cultural icon.
&ldquo;Justice for Zubeen Garg will be delivered on December 8. The SIT&rsquo;s report will uncover significant facts about his death. Those who doubted the investigation will realize that I always stand by my word,&rdquo; Sarma told reporters.
Meanwhile, the Assam government has launched a strong crackdown on the piracy of Garg&rsquo;s final film Roi Roi Binale. Released just 12 days ago, the movie has been illegally circulated online through unauthorised uploads and downloads.
Sarma said police have been directed to take strict action against those involved in the piracy. &ldquo;This is a serious offence. I urge everyone not to share or download the film illegally. Anyone with information should report it to the nearest police station,&rdquo; he added.
The film&rsquo;s production team recently filed a formal complaint at the Cyber Crime Police Station in Guwahati. Director Rajesh Bhuyan expressed deep anguish, calling the piracy a personal and emotional blow to the entire crew.
&ldquo;Roi Roi Binale was Zubeen da&rsquo;s last film, and it carries immense emotional value. Sharing or pirating it is not just unlawful it dishonours his memory,&rdquo; Bhuyan said during a screening in Jorhat.
Fans and colleagues continue to mourn the beloved artist, hoping that the upcoming SIT report will bring clarity and closure to the mystery surrounding his death.
