The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has secured 10-day custody of Soyab, the latest accused arrested in connection with the Red Fort car bomb blast case. He was detained earlier in the day from Faridabad and later produced before the Patiala House Court, which approved his extended custody for interrogation.
On the same day, the custody of another key accused, Aamir Rashid Ali, was also extended by seven days after being presented before the court. With Soyab&rsquo;s arrest, the total number of individuals apprehended in the case has risen to seven.
Investigators stated that Soyab, a resident of Dhoj in Faridabad, played a critical role in assisting terrorist Dr Umar Muhammad, also known as Umar Un Nabi, before the November 10 blast near the Red Fort, which resulted in multiple casualties. Authorities allege that Soyab sheltered Umar and provided necessary logistical support that helped facilitate the attack.
The NIA has been intensifying its operations under case number RC-21/2025/NIA/DLI, conducting coordinated raids across several states with local police support to identify the broader network involved.
Ongoing investigations have uncovered significant details about Umar&rsquo;s methods. According to interrogation inputs, Umar maintained a portable setup packed with chemical compounds, bomb-making tools and essential components for assembling explosive devices. This mobile kit was reportedly carried with him at all times.
Umar, who worked in the medical field at Al-Falah University in Faridabad, is believed to have conducted chemical experiments inside his campus room while preparing the improvised explosive device (IED). Another arrested suspect, Dr Muzamil Shakeel, also linked to the same university, confirmed that these compounds were used in the final device that detonated near the Red Fort.
The NIA continues to pursue leads to dismantle the remaining elements of the terror network responsible for the attack.
