Karnataka Police have filed a case after pro-Pakistan slogans were allegedly raised during an Eid-e-Milad procession in Bhadravathi town, Shivamogga district. A short video of the incident went viral on social media, triggering widespread reactions and demands for action.
Police said the video clip, lasting 12 seconds, showed a group shouting slogans. The footage has been forwarded to forensic experts for verification. Authorities formed three special investigation teams, each led by an inspector, to identify those involved and confirm the circumstances.
Officers confirmed that the entire procession was covered through videography and drone surveillance, ensuring detailed evidence collection. They emphasised that the FIR was registered suo motu, without waiting for a formal complaint.
The incident has sparked sharp criticism from political leaders, with several linking it to earlier controversies surrounding pro-Pakistan chants in Karnataka.
