Aarti, a mother of twins who witnessed her 68-year-old father, Ramachandran, being gunned down by a terrorist in Jammu and Kashmir&rsquo;s Pahalgam on April 22, has expressed satisfaction over India&rsquo;s military response through&nbsp;Operation Sindoor.
&ldquo;Even though our loss can never be compensated, we are happy with what has happened&mdash;India has hit back at Pakistan,&rdquo; said Aarti after hearing the news.
&ldquo;India responded at the right time. This was the moment we had all been waiting for. It&rsquo;s a relief that common civilians were not affected in the attack,&rdquo; she added.
Ramachandran, a former non-resident Indian who had returned from the Middle East five years ago, was a staunch BJP supporter. He had unsuccessfully contested local body polls and was among those shortlisted as potential BJP candidates for the upcoming civic elections.
Aarti, a mother of twin boys, was often seen breaking down last month as she recounted the horrifying moment her father was shot dead by a terrorist&mdash;an incident witnessed by her children.
She and her parents had been vacationing in Pahalgam when the attack took place.
Aarti had earlier said that the terrorist had placed something on her head, prompting her sons to cry out. &ldquo;Maybe hearing the cries of my boys, the terrorist walked away without harming them,&rdquo; she said.
Ramachandran&rsquo;s funeral was attended by two governors, several state ministers, film actors, and hundreds of people.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Leader of Opposition V.D. Satheesan, and several other political leaders visited Aarti to express their condolences and pledge moral support to the family.
In a military operation following the Pahalgam terror attack&mdash;which claimed 26 civilian lives&mdash;India launched&nbsp;Operation Sindoor, striking nine high-value terror targets deep inside Pakistani territory.
The operation, carried out with surgical precision, was closely monitored through the night by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and senior security officials.
The Indian Army confirmed that the strikes were meticulously planned and executed, ensuring that no civilian or military infrastructure in Pakistan was harmed.
The targets were linked to terror groups responsible for the April 22 Pahalgam attack, which killed 25 Indian nationals and one Nepali citizen in Jammu and Kashmir.
