The incident occurred on Tuesday night in Arjun Dumri village, under Hata police station limits. The victim, identified as Madhuri, was found lying lifeless in a paddy field near the village panchayat building, where stray dogs were attacking her body. Police rushed to the spot, drove the animals away, and took the remains into custody.
Local accounts suggest the woman had been missing since Monday. She was known to wander around the village and had likely gone near the panchayat building before her death. Villagers allege that stray dogs have been a persistent danger in the area, citing previous incidents, including attacks on livestock.
Authorities have sent the body for a post-mortem to confirm the exact cause of death. Officials have assured the victim&rsquo;s family of necessary support, while the incident has reignited demands for effective stray dog control measures in rural Uttar Pradesh.
