The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to announce the registration dates for JEE Mains 2026 Session 1 very soon. Once the registration window opens, candidates will be able to complete the process online at <a class="decorated-link" href="https://jeemain.nta.nic.in" target="_new" rel="noopener" data-start="293" data-end="341">jeemain.nta.nic.in</a>. The official exam schedule for both sessions of JEE Mains 2026 has already been released on Sunday, October 19, 2025.
For Session 1, application submission will begin in October 2025, and the entrance test will be conducted from January 21 to January 30, 2026. For Session 2, the registration process will start in the last week of January 2026, and the exam will be held between April 1 and April 10, 2026.
The exams are expected to be held in two shifts daily. The first shift will be from 9 am to 12 noon, and the second shift will run from 3 pm to 6 pm.
The JEE Main consists of two papers. Paper 1 is meant for admission to undergraduate engineering programs (B.E./B.Tech.) offered by NITs, IIITs, CFTIs, and participating state-funded institutions and universities. It also serves as the eligibility test for JEE Advanced, required for admission to IITs. Paper 2 is conducted for B. Arch and B. Planning programs at various institutions across the country.
