External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has stated that India is concerned about the recent crisis in Venezuela and has called on all parties involved to engage in dialogue for the well-being and safety of Venezuelan citizens. His remarks came during a press conference in Luxembourg, where he emphasised that peaceful resolution and prioritising civilian security are key amid the political uncertainty.&nbsp;
India&rsquo;s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has closely monitored developments in the South American nation after Venezuelan President Nicol&aacute;s Maduro was captured by U.S. forces and taken to New York. In response to the situation, the MEA described the unfolding events as a matter of &ldquo;deep concern&rdquo; and reaffirmed its support for the people of Venezuela.&nbsp;
The MEA has also issued safety guidance for Indian nationals, advising them to avoid non-essential travel to Venezuela in light of the volatile conditions and to stay in direct contact with the Indian Embassy in Caracas for support if needed.
India hopes that longstanding diplomatic ties with Venezuela will help facilitate discussions that prioritise peace and stability, reflecting New Delhi&rsquo;s preference for diplomatic engagement and humanitarian concern over escalating tensions.
