India has once again proven its unmatched expertise in crisis management by safely evacuating over 100 Indian students from war-hit zones in Iran. From relocating them within Iran to facilitating their passage into Armenia and finally flying them home, the mission showcased the government&rsquo;s swift, compassionate and coordinated response.
Led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India's approach to foreign crises over the past decade has combined diplomacy with decisive action, prioritising the safety and dignity of its citizens. The evacuation from Iran adds to a growing list of successful missions that reflect a &ldquo;nation first&rdquo; approach.

Wuhan Evacuation (2020): 637 Indians and 7 Maldivians were safely brought home from the pandemic&rsquo;s epicentre.

Operation Devi Shakti (2021): As Afghanistan fell to the Taliban, 669 individuals, including 448 Indians and 206 Afghans (Hindus and Sikhs), were evacuated. Holy scriptures were also repatriated.

Operation Ganga (2022): Amid the Russia-Ukraine war, 18,282 Indian nationals were rescued by 90 flights, fully funded by the Indian government.

Operation Kaveri (2023): During Sudan's conflict, over 4,000 people, including 136 foreigners, were evacuated using air and sea routes.

Operation Ajay (2023): 1,343 individuals, including OCI cardholders and Nepalese nationals, were rescued from Israel.

Operation Indravati (2024): 17 Indians were airlifted from Haiti during civil unrest.

Kuwait Fire Relief (2024): The mortal remains of 45 Indians who died in a labour housing fire were repatriated with dignity via an IAF aircraft.

Syria Evacuation (2024): 75 Indians, including 44 pilgrims, were safely brought home via Lebanon.
