The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Friday responded to the recent defence pact signed between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, stating that India expects Riyadh to keep in mind mutual interests and sensitivities.
MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, addressing the weekly briefing, underlined the strong and growing strategic partnership between India and Saudi Arabia over the past several years.
The Saudi-Pakistan agreement, announced earlier this week, commits both nations to view any attack on one as an attack on the other. The development came just days after Israel&rsquo;s strike on Hamas leadership in Qatar, heightening tensions in the region.
India has said it will closely study the implications of the pact for its own national security, as well as its impact on regional and global stability. Officials reaffirmed that New Delhi remains committed to safeguarding its national interests and ensuring security across all domains.
