Alarmingly, five of the deceased were only in their 20s.</span></p>
<p data-start="1495" data-end="1714"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">The state Health Ministry has ordered a detailed investigation led by the Director of Jayadeva Institute. A team of cardiologists and public health experts will study potential causes and submit a report within 10 days.</span></p>
<p data-start="1716" data-end="1930"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Minister Rao pointed to changing lifestyles, unhealthy diets, and rising non-communicable diseases as likely contributors but stressed the need for deeper analysis, especially given the age profile of many victims.</span></p>
<p data-start="1932" data-end="2139"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">He also highlighted the Puneeth Rajkumar Hridaya Jyothi Scheme, implemented by the state to reduce sudden cardiac deaths, and emphasized the importance of public awareness and preventive health measures.</span></p>
<p data-start="2141" data-end="2396"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Chief Minister Siddaramaiah assured that the government will uncover the root cause behind the spike in cardiac deaths. A 10-member expert committee, headed by senior IAS officer and Health Secretary Harsh Gupta, has been formed to investigate the matter.</span></p>
