<p data-start="154" data-end="497"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Gujarat has emerged as a national leader in the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector, drawing capital inflows worth ₹86,418 crore between 2021 and 2025 and generating over 3.98 lakh jobs, as per official data. To boost entrepreneurship, the state government disbursed more than ₹7,300 crore through 1.69 lakh claim applications.</span></p>
<h3 data-start="499" data-end="533"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">ZED Certification Leadership</span></h3>
<p data-start="534" data-end="849"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Under the Centre&rsquo;s &lsquo;Zero Defect Zero Effect&rsquo; (ZED) initiative, Gujarat continues to top the charts with over 1.10 lakh registrations and nearly 66,000 certifications. Industry Commissioner Swaroop P said the success was achieved through an intensive district-level campaign before the last Vibrant Gujarat summit.</span></p>
<h3 data-start="851" data-end="884"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Rise of Women Entrepreneurs</span></h3>
<p data-start="885" data-end="1138"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">In three years, Gujarat recorded 17.39 lakh new enterprise registrations, including 2.91 lakh ventures launched by women. &ldquo;Differential incentives for women entrepreneurs are embedded in every state scheme, ensuring inclusive growth,&rdquo; Swaroop P added.</span></p>
<h3 data-start="1140" data-end="1167"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">FY 2024&ndash;25 Highlights</span></h3>
<p data-start="1168" data-end="1707"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">The year 2024&ndash;25 alone saw investments exceeding ₹42,774 crore, creating 1.65 lakh jobs. Financial support worth ₹958 crore was extended to 21,000 units, alongside 238 workshops for entrepreneurs, job-seekers, and students. For cluster development, ₹4.5 crore was allocated, while ₹26.38 crore was granted to 1,511 units under the Marketing Development Assistance scheme. Six Regional MSE Facilitation Councils were also set up in Ahmedabad, Surat, Rajkot, Bhavnagar, Vadodara and Kutch for speedy resolution of delayed payment disputes.</span></p>
<h3 data-start="1709" data-end="1737"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Vibrant MSME Ecosystem</span></h3>
<p data-start="1738" data-end="2045"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">In 2023, the &lsquo;Vibrant Gujarat, Vibrant District&rsquo; festival showcased local industries across 32 districts, drawing over 2.70 lakh visitors and securing more than 2,600 MoUs. Officials noted that Gujarat has registered 37.56 lakh MSMEs in the past five years, though 8,779 units shut during the same period.</span></p>
<h3 data-start="2047" data-end="2078"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">National Support Measures</span></h3>
<p data-start="2079" data-end="2535"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">At the national level, MSMEs are being reinforced through measures such as a ₹50,000 crore equity infusion via the Self-Reliant India Fund, a three-year non-tax benefit in case of status upgrades, a bar on global tenders up to ₹200 crore, and the Udyam Assist Platform to formalise informal enterprises. The Credit Guarantee Scheme has also been strengthened with an additional ₹9,000 crore infusion, enabling ₹2 lakh crore in extra credit at lower cost.</span></p>
<p data-start="2537" data-end="2776"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Recent Union Budgets introduced a Mutual Credit Guarantee Scheme for manufacturing MSMEs, extended support for Special Mention Account units, and in 2025 doubled the guarantee cap from ₹5 crore to ₹10 crore, further easing credit access.</span></p>
