<h3 data-start="203" data-end="264">Delhi Blast Probe Widens as Former Car Owner Arrested</h3>
Just hours after the deadly car explosion near Delhi&rsquo;s Red Fort that claimed eight lives and left several injured, the Delhi Police filed an FIR invoking stringent provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and the Explosives Act.
The case has taken a sharp turn with the arrest of Salman, the previous owner of the Hyundai i20 car involved in the blast. Police sources confirmed that two men &mdash; Salman and Devender &mdash; who owned the car at different times, have been detained for questioning as investigators trace the vehicle&rsquo;s sales history to uncover a possible chain of ownership and linkages.
According to Sandeep Kumar, spokesperson for Gurugram Police, the white 2013 Hyundai i20 was originally registered in the name of Salman, a local resident.

&ldquo;He sold the vehicle to a man named Devender, a resident of Okhla (Delhi), around one and a half years ago. We have handed over Salman to Delhi Police,&rdquo; Kumar said.

Police officials further confirmed that Devender has also been detained, while investigators are examining reports that the car may have changed hands again in Ambala.

The Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) has collected samples from the blast site.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the Hyundai i20 was parked for nearly two hours near the Red Fort before it exploded while slowly moving along Netaji Subhash Marg on Monday evening.
The FIR invokes Sections 16 and 18 of the UAPA, which deal respectively with terrorist acts and conspiracy or support for terrorism, along with Sections 3 and 4 of the Explosive Substances Act, covering illegal possession and use of explosives.
Section 16 prescribes life imprisonment or the death penalty if the terrorist act results in death, while Section 18 targets planning, aiding or facilitating terrorism, even if the act hasn&rsquo;t occurred.
Notably, despite the inclusion of terror-related sections, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has not termed the incident a terror act, choosing instead to await the outcome of the investigation.
