The Delhi Red Fort blast investigation has uncovered a crucial video featuring Dr Umar Mohammad, also known as Umar un Nabi, offering insight into the extremist ideology that drove the November 10 attack, which killed 13 people. In the video, Umar attempts to justify suicide missions and presents them as pre-planned &ldquo;martyrdom operations,&rdquo; revealing a mindset shaped by radical narratives.
Investigators believe the video was recorded to influence others and propagate extremist ideology. According to officials, Umar had fully intended to carry out a major suicide attack and regarded such missions as the most destructive form of attack, a method widely adopted by global terror organisations.
The video is now a key part of the probe, as it may provide additional clarity on Umar&rsquo;s motivations and the broader plans of the module. Officials have established that Umar was the most radicalised member of the Faridabad-based Jaish-e-Mohammad unit. He self-radicalised online and joined the module voluntarily, playing a significant role in both planning and execution.
The group had discussed multiple dates for potential suicide attacks across Delhi. Their first planned strike was scheduled for August 15 but was postponed due to heightened security. They later shifted plans to December 6, and eventually considered January 26 as a high-impact target. However, after authorities dismantled the Faridabad module, Umar allegedly panicked and detonated the explosive-laden vehicle prematurely near the Red Fort on November 10. The original plan was to ram the car into the Red Fort during Republic Day celebrations.
During searches, agencies recovered nearly 3,000 kg of ammonium nitrate mixed with TATP, a highly volatile compound that significantly increases explosive power. A portion of the seized material stored at the Nowgam police station in Jammu &amp; Kashmir accidentally exploded before forensic teams could examine it, leading to multiple fatalities.
Agencies continue analysing the video and the recovered evidence to map the network, the planned attacks, and the extent of the terror module&rsquo;s activities.
