Chandigarh mayor Harpreet Kaur Babla is set to represent India at the BRICS Urban Future Forum 2025, scheduled in Moscow from September 17 to 18. The Ministry of Home Affairs granted her political clearance for the high-profile international event on Saturday.
The forum is expected to draw over 15,000 participants and more than 300 speakers from 30 countries. City leaders, global business executives, and policy experts will gather to deliberate on innovative technologies and strategies to shape the future of megacities. Mayor Babla has been invited as a keynote speaker and will address the theme, &ldquo;Technological Framework of the City: The Space of the Future.&rdquo; Her presentation will highlight Chandigarh&rsquo;s progress in digital governance and sustainable development. She will speak on the city&rsquo;s hybrid economy, its vision for technological leadership, rapid urban transformation, emerging growth hubs, and the role of digital platforms in modern governance.
