Security forces in Jammu are on high alert after the Border Security Force (BSF) launched a comprehensive search operation along the India Pakistan border in the RS Pura and Arnia sectors. The operation began late Tuesday night following intelligence inputs indicating possible infiltration attempts.
According to official sources, BSF units deployed night vision drones, sniffer dogs, and ground teams to comb through the sensitive belt, which lies just a few kilometers from the international boundary. The sudden movement near the fencing reportedly triggered the alert.
"While there is no confirmed contact with infiltrators so far, precautionary sweeps are being carried out in suspected areas," a senior BSF official stated, adding that troops remain on standby for any eventuality.
Villagers in nearby hamlets were advised to remain vigilant and avoid isolated areas after dark. Security agencies are also coordinating closely with local police and intelligence units to monitor movements along key infiltration routes.
This heightened alert comes amid ongoing tensions along the border and follows a series of incidents where attempts were made to breach the fencing under cover of darkness.
No casualties or recoveries have been reported so far, but the search operation is expected to continue into the night, with additional reinforcements arriving from nearby outposts.
