Two members of the notorious Davinder Bambiha gang were arrested after a late-night encounter with Gurgaon Police near Sector 62 on Saturday. The accused, identified as Sumit Sharma (21) and Sukhmanjit (19) from Amritsar, opened fire at a police team that tried to stop their bike, triggering a brief gunfight.
Both men were injured in the legs and caught on the spot. Police recovered two pistols, live cartridges and several empty shells from the area.
Investigators said the duo was planning a major crime along Golf Course Extension Road. Sumit is wanted in a 2025 Amritsar murder case, while Sukhmanjit is a proclaimed offender.
Police confirmed the two belong to the Bambiha gang, rivals of the Lawrence Bishnoi syndicate. The accused are currently hospitalised and will be formally arrested after recovery.
