Pushpa 2: The Rule actor Allu Arjun was arrested by Hyderabad police in connection with the Sandhya Theatre stampede case, that left a woman dead and her son in critical condition. 
He was produced in Telangana High Court after questioning by police on Friday evening. The actor was sent to 14 days judicial custody by the lower court; however, he was granted interim bail by Telangana HC. &nbsp;
Several politicians came out in support of the Pushpa actor, with many slamming the ruling Congress party over the arrest.
BRS leader&nbsp;KT Rama Rao&nbsp;slammed Congress, labelling Allu Arjun&rsquo;s arrest &ldquo;the pinnacle of insecurity of the rulers!&rdquo; &ldquo;Treating Allu Arjun&nbsp;garu&nbsp;as a common criminal is uncalled for especially for something he isn&rsquo;t directly responsible,&rdquo; KTR posted on X.
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy responded by saying neither he nor his government had any role in the actor&rsquo;s arrest. &ldquo;No political reason to be read into...all are equal before the law&rdquo; he said.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Raja Singh pledged his support for Allu Arjun and claimed that the theatre where the stampede happened had informed police about the actor&rsquo;s visit in advance. &ldquo;But, they failed to make proper arrangements,&rdquo; Singh said.
BJP leader Bandi Sanjay took to X and wrote, &ldquo;National Award-winning actor Allu Arjun, lifted straight from his bedroom without even being given time to change, is a disgraceful act of mismanagement and disrespect. A star of his stature, who brought global recognition to Indian cinema, deserved better treatment.&rdquo;
While BJP leaders and BRS leaders extended their support to Allu Arjun and blamed the Congress government in Telangana, the whole episode has been given a political angle by political leaders.
A judicial inquiry into a stampede case was turned into a political opportunity to slam the ruling government in Telangana. Allu Arjun, the actor at the heart of the matter, cooperated with Hyderabad police and willingly went to the police station and recorded his statement. He also submitted to a medical examination and showed no starry airs. 
However, political leaders expressed their &lsquo;outrage&rsquo; at the &lsquo;treatment&rsquo; received by Allu Arjun at the hands of the police and the government. 
The Telangana High Court has granted interim bail to the actor, quashing lower court&rsquo;s order of 14 days judicial custody. Police have been instructed to continue their investigation into the case.
