In a landmark move set to boost bilateral ties, the Adani Group has announced plans to invest up to $10 billion in Vietnam, focusing on sectors like infrastructure, energy, and emerging technologies. The commitment was revealed by Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani during a meeting with Vietnamese Party General Secretary To Lam in Hanoi last week.
According to Vietnam&rsquo;s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the visit underscores the group&rsquo;s growing global presence and its intention to expand operations in Southeast Asia. Adani praised Vietnam&rsquo;s developmental strategy and acknowledged the country&rsquo;s socio-economic progress as a key driver for the group&rsquo;s investment interest. Gautam Adani emphasized the conglomerate&rsquo;s experience in executing large-scale infrastructure projects, referencing India&rsquo;s Mundra Port, India&rsquo;s largest commercial port, as a case study in logistics excellence. The Adani Group also ranks as India&rsquo;s largest private energy provider, with international operations spanning ports, airports, renewable energy, logistics, and digital innovation.
&ldquo;We&rsquo;re committed to aligning our investment with Vietnam&rsquo;s strategic priorities, especially in renewable energy, smart infrastructure, and AI-led digital solutions,&rdquo; said Adani during the meeting. He expressed confidence that Vietnam&rsquo;s progressive economic policies and political stability would create a strong environment for business growth. Party General Secretary To Lam, while welcoming the investment, urged the group to collaborate closely with Vietnam&rsquo;s ministries and provincial authorities to fast-track project execution. He appreciated Adani&rsquo;s long-term commitment and acknowledged the group&rsquo;s contributions to India&rsquo;s economic growth.
Vietnam, he said, is prioritizing breakthroughs in science, innovation, and digital transformation, and is keen on partnerships that can accelerate its vision. He also stressed the importance of the Vietnam-India comprehensive strategic partnership, established in 2016, and called on businesses from both nations to deepen engagement.
This investment is expected to enhance economic cooperation between the two nations, open doors for job creation, and support Vietnam&rsquo;s transition to a green and digital economy.
