Despite most sections of the 1,300-plus kilometre expressway nearing completion, work on this critical patch in Gujarat has remained sluggish for nearly four years. What was meant to be a seamless, high speed corridor now stands fractured because of a delay affecting less than seven percent of the total length.
Construction on the troubled stretch began in 2021, but progress has remained painfully slow. Even after multiple reviews, less than a fifth of the work has been completed, raising concerns within road transport authorities and infrastructure planners.

Until the final stretch is completed, the full benefits of the project remain out of reach.
Several completed sections are already operational, offering a glimpse of what the expressway could achieve once fully connected. But the missing link continues to delay the launch of the corridor as a single uninterrupted route.
With deadlines slipping and costs under scrutiny, authorities are now weighing stricter action to fast-track construction. If progress does not pick up soon, the project&rsquo;s final completion may spill well beyond current targets.
