Nearly seven months after suffering major losses during Operation Sindoor, Pakistan has rebuilt and reactivated 72 terror launch pads along the Jammu frontier, the Border Security Force has said, warning of renewed infiltration threats along the International Border and the Line of Control.
Senior BSF officials said that although Pakistan initially shifted launch facilities away from the border following Indian strikes, several pads have quietly resurfaced close to sensitive areas. Twelve active launch pads have been identified near the International Border in Pakistan&rsquo;s Sialkot and Zafarwal regions, while around 60 are located across the Line of Control opposite Jammu. Terrorists are typically positioned in small groups of two or three, with numbers changing frequently.
While no terror training camps have been detected across the International Border at present, security agencies report their presence in depth areas across the Line of Control.
During Operation Sindoor, as many as 118 Pakistani posts used to target Indian positions were heavily damaged. These included 72 posts along the International Border in Hiranagar, Samba and Jammu, and 46 along the Line of Control in Rajouri and Poonch. Surveillance systems at several locations were also destroyed, with full details emerging gradually after hostilities ended.
BSF officials said Pakistani Rangers who had abandoned posts during the operation have since returned, prompting heightened monitoring. The force is tracking construction activity, terrain changes and possible tunnel routes using advanced ground surveillance radars, electro-optical systems and unmanned aerial vehicles.
Drones have emerged as a significant threat in recent years, pushing the BSF to upgrade its counter-drone capabilities and expand training. Officials stressed that modern conflicts increasingly rely on aerial assets, making airspace monitoring critical to border security.
