An anti-Naxal operation in Madhya Pradesh's Balaghat district resulted in the deaths of three female Naxalite operatives during an armed confrontation with law enforcement on Wednesday. The encounter took place in a densely forested region near the Chhattisgarh border, approximately 90 kilometers from the district headquarters.
The operation was jointly conducted by the specialized anti-Naxal Hawk Force unit of the Madhya Pradesh police and local law enforcement teams. Additional Superintendent of Police Vijay Dabar confirmed the engagement, which occurred in the morning hours near the Ronda Forest Camp within the Supkhar Forest Range, under the jurisdiction of Garhi Police Station.
In the aftermath of the firefight, security forces recovered several weapons from the scene, including an INSAS rifle, a Self-Loading Rifle (SLR), and a .303 rifle. Various daily necessities and supplies were also found at the location. According to official statements, while some Naxalites sustained injuries during the exchange, they managed to retreat from the area.
Law enforcement has mobilized twelve police teams to conduct an extensive combing operation throughout the region. These teams are actively pursuing the injured Naxalites who escaped during the encounter, with search efforts focused on the forest areas along the state border.
The successful operation represents a significant development in the ongoing counter-insurgency efforts in the region, where security forces continue to maintain pressure on Naxalite groups operating in the densely forested areas along state boundaries.
