Six people, including three minors, drowned in two separate incidents in north Andhra Pradesh on Sunday, prompting authorities to intensify search operations and issue fresh safety directives.
In Parvathipuram Manyam district, three boys drowned while bathing at the Jhanjhavathi rubber dam in Komarada mandal. 
The victims, Sharat, Govind Naidu and Pradeep, all belonged to Sivini village. 
They had accompanied their relatives to the dam when the tragedy occurred.
Eyewitnesses said one boy began drowning, leading the other two to attempt a rescue, but all three were swept away by strong currents. 
Police teams, supported by expert swimmers, launched search operations shortly after the incident.
In a separate incident, one person died and two others went missing after a country-made boat capsized in the Raiwada reservoir in Alluri Sitharamaraju district. 
The mishap occurred near Jinapadu in Anantagiri mandal as the group was returning to the bund. 
The deceased was identified as Jeevan, a local resident. 
Police retrieved his body, while efforts continued to locate the two missing individuals.
Agriculture Minister K. Atchenaidu reviewed the situation and instructed officials to expedite search efforts at the Jhanjhavathi dam. 
He also directed authorities to install cautionary boards to prevent visitors from entering unsafe waters. 
The minister said the measure was needed &ldquo;to avert such tragedies in the future.&rdquo;
The state has witnessed a series of similar incidents recently. 
On November 16, five people, including two young children and a 16-year-old student, drowned in separate mishaps in Srikakulam district and Tirupati.
