Gujarat ATS&rsquo; ongoing probe into the ISKP-linked terror module has revealed a deeper, more organised network of radicalisation, foreign funding and operational planning than initially suspected. Searches at the Uttar Pradesh residence of accused Mohammad Suhail led to the recovery of an ISIS flag, while digital devices seized from Hyderabad-based Dr Ahmed have offered investigators what officials describe as &ldquo;crucial evidence&rdquo; of ideological indoctrination.
<h3 data-start="1071" data-end="1140">Parcels With Cash and Weapons Point to Pakistan-Based Handler</h3>
According to ATS officials, a parcel delivered to Dr Ahmed two months ago by Azad and Suhail contained ₹1.5 lakh, allegedly sent on the instructions of a Pakistani handler. Another parcel seized at the time of Dr Ahmed&rsquo;s arrest contained weapons, prompting the swift detention of both couriers. Investigators are now tracking the funding route and verifying the Pakistan link that appears to be driving the module&rsquo;s activities.

ATS sources say Dr Ahmed underwent a sharp ideological transformation after completing his medical degree. Digital evidence shows he administered an oath to a man identified as Abu Khalija, urging him to &ldquo;carry out a major act.&rdquo; His family reportedly recognised his extremist shift early; his wife is believed to have left him just two months into the marriage. Investigators have also confirmed that Ahmed&rsquo;s sister is a practising doctor.
<h3 data-start="2109" data-end="2195">Reconnaissance in Baramulla, Haridwar Temples; Failed Attempt at &lsquo;Opportunity&rsquo;</h3>
The ATS has also found that accused Azad travelled to Baramulla in an attempt to execute a terror strike but returned unsuccessful. Later, he allegedly met a man on a train and followed him to Haridwar, where he is believed to have conducted reconnaissance of temples, a detail corroborated through digital trails and interrogation inputs. Officials say these patterns reflect a broader effort to identify soft targets across states.
