A 25-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped by two men inside a moving vehicle in Haryana&rsquo;s Faridabad and later thrown onto the road with serious injuries, police said on Wednesday. The two accused have been arrested, and the vehicle used in the crime has been recovered.
The incident occurred late Monday night when the woman was returning from a friend&rsquo;s house and waiting for transport near Metro Chowk. Unable to find a ride to Kalyanpuri Chowk, she was reportedly offered a lift by two men travelling in a Maruti Suzuki Eeco van.
According to police officials, the men diverted the vehicle towards the Gurugram&ndash;Faridabad Road, where the woman was allegedly sexually assaulted inside the moving van. Investigators said she was later pushed out of the vehicle between 3 am and 4 am near Raja Chowk, resulting in severe head injuries, after which the accused fled.
Despite her injuries, the woman managed to contact her sister, who alerted the police. She was found injured on the roadside and rushed to Badshah Khan Hospital, where she is currently undergoing treatment. Doctors have said she is not yet in a condition to record her statement.
Based on a complaint filed by the victim&rsquo;s sister, an FIR was registered at Kotwali police station on Tuesday evening under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including charges of gang rape, criminal intimidation, and common intention.
The accused, who are reportedly natives of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh but reside in Faridabad, were taken into custody on Tuesday for questioning. Police said further investigation is underway to reconstruct the sequence of events and gather additional evidence.
