The accused, Deepak Kumar Saini, had previously worked as the victim&rsquo;s caretaker.</span></p>
<p data-start="266" data-end="666"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Police revealed that Saini gained the trust of Manjusha Rani Gupta, a resident of Royal Residency, Dwarka, while working at her home since March 2020. During this period, he occasionally accessed her mobile phone. Between January 30 and June 6, 2025, he is accused of installing financial apps like Paytm on her phone, retrieving OTPs, and transferring funds to his own account without her knowledge.</span></p>
<p data-start="668" data-end="928"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">The victim approached the police on July 16, leading to the registration of an FIR under Section 306 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. A preliminary inquiry, including analysis of call detail records, IP logs, and bank statements, pointed to Saini&rsquo;s involvement.</span></p>
<p data-start="930" data-end="1302"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Further investigation uncovered that Saini was actively involved in online gambling networks operated through Telegram groups such as &ldquo;Kingstar,&rdquo; &ldquo;Rockstar,&rdquo; and &ldquo;King Ludo Betting.&rdquo; On July 31, a police team tracked him to his native village in Sikar district, Rajasthan, and arrested him, recovering a mobile phone containing incriminating evidence and Telegram records.</span></p>
<p data-start="1304" data-end="1539"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Saini admitted to losing most of the stolen money in gambling, with the remaining amount spent in clubs and hotels. Efforts are ongoing to trace and recover the misappropriated funds and identify others involved in the gambling racket.</span></p>
<p data-start="1541" data-end="1779" data-is-last-node="" data-is-only-node=""><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Dwarka DCP Ankit Singh praised the swift investigation and the team&rsquo;s sensitivity towards the elderly victim. The accused, a Class 12 pass-out, has been booked, and further investigation is underway to uncover the larger criminal network.</span></p>
