In a significant development in the ₹17,000 crore Anil Ambani loan fraud case, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday interrogated the Reliance Group Chairman in New Delhi over alleged financial irregularities, including loan diversion, money laundering, and possible links to political funding.
Ambani was questioned at the ED headquarters, where officials confirmed that the session was recorded on camera. He was not permitted to have a lawyer present during the interrogation.

The investigation gained momentum after allegations emerged involving the diversion of ₹3,000 crore in loans from Yes Bank between 2017 and 2019. A broader scam exceeding ₹14,000 crore has been linked to Reliance Communications.

Just last week, the ED conducted extensive raids at multiple Reliance Group-linked properties in Mumbai and Delhi, recovering documents, hard drives, and digital records. These searches were part of the ED&rsquo;s money laundering probe in the Yes Bank loan fraud.
Meanwhile, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has launched a parallel probe into other firms under the Anil Ambani-led group, examining alleged fraudulent loan practices and fund misuse.
