India&rsquo;s combined merchandise and services exports touched an estimated $491.80 billion during April&ndash;October 2025, marking a 4.84 percent rise compared to $469.11 billion in the same period last year.
Merchandise exports stood at $254.25 billion, slightly higher than $252.66 billion recorded in April&ndash;October 2024, reflecting a modest growth of 0.63 percent. Non-petroleum exports rose nearly 4 percent to $219.90 billion, up from $211.60 billion a year earlier, according to data from the Commerce Ministry.
In October, export growth was driven by strong performance in electronic goods, meat, dairy and poultry items, marine products, cashew, and coffee. Electronic goods saw a jump of 19.05 percent, rising from $3.43 billion to $4.08 billion. Exports of meat, dairy, and poultry products increased by 30.87 percent to $0.58 billion.
Marine exports grew by 11.08 percent, while cashew shipments surged by 126.85 percent. Coffee exports also rose by 10.91 percent, continuing their upward trend.
India&rsquo;s total exports for October alone reached $72.89 billion. Imports for the same month were estimated at $94.70 billion, reflecting a 14.87 percent increase year-on-year.
Services imports between April and October were valued at $118.87 billion, compared with $114.96 billion last year. The services trade surplus during this period improved significantly, rising to $118.68 billion from $101.49 billion.
The top five destinations showing the highest growth in export value in October were China (42.35 percent), Spain (43.43 percent), Sri Lanka (29.02 percent), Vietnam (21.42 percent), and Tanzania (17.92 percent).
