KUTCH: A distressing incident has surfaced from a village near Anjar, Kutch, where a 50-year-old man allegedly raped his 80-year-old mother. The woman, who suffered a brain stroke following the assault, is currently undergoing treatment at a government hospital.
According to police sources, the accused, reportedly an alcoholic, had a history of misbehavior and was known for harassing his mother for money. He had previously been booked in three alcohol-related cases at Gandhidham and Anjar police stations.
The assault took place on Thursday, February 27, in a village about five kilometers east of Anjar police station. Following the attack, the elderly woman sustained serious injuries and collapsed while being taken for medical treatment.
A complaint has been registered against the accused at Anjar police station. The case was brought to light after the wife of the accused&rsquo;s younger brother filed an official complaint. The police are investigating the matter further.
