Gujarat Agriculture Minister Raghavji Patel on Thursday unveiled the state&rsquo;s major procurement plan for the 2025 Kharif season, assuring farmers of fair returns through Minimum Support Price (MSP). Under the Pradhan Mantri Annadata Aay Sanrakshan Abhiyan (PM-AASHA), the state will procure groundnut, moong, urad and soybean at MSP.
Advance online registration will be open from September 1 to 15 on the E-Samruddhi portal, accessible to farmers across all districts. Patel stressed that the government has made comprehensive arrangements to ensure smooth procurement. &ldquo;Farmers in Gujarat will now be able to register for MSP procurement soon after sowing,&rdquo; he said.
To ease the process, free registration will also be available at village-level e-gram centres through Village Computer Entrepreneurs (VCEs).
Reflecting on last year&rsquo;s record procurement, Patel recalled how the government purchased 23.47 lakh metric tonnes of Kharif crops worth over Rs 16,223 crore from 8.53 lakh farmers. &ldquo;This year too, the state will ensure sufficient procurement to safeguard farmers&rsquo; incomes,&rdquo; he affirmed.
The MSP for 2025 is fixed at Rs 7,263 per quintal for groundnut, Rs 8,768 for moong, Rs 7,800 for urad and Rs 5,328 for soybean.
Agriculture remains a budgetary priority for Gujarat, with Rs 22,498 crore earmarked for 2025&ndash;26. Key allocations include Rs 800 crore for farm mechanisation, Rs 2,175 crore for Kisan Suryodaya Yojana, and Rs 500 crore for agro-processing and exports. Nationally, PM-AASHA has been allocated Rs 6,941 crore, an 8 per cent increase, strengthening the MSP mechanism.
