The arrest of a retired government official for sexually assaulting a minor girl known to his family has raised serious questions about human morality and child safety, igniting widespread outrage and anger throughout the city.
Abuse of Trust by a Retired Officer
The accused has been identified as Hasmukh alias Rishi Pandya, a former Class-II officer at the District Cooperative Society in Bhavnagar's Bahumali Bhavan, who is now retired. Pandya had cultivated a friendly relationship with the victim's family, successfully earning their complete trust.
The accused exploited the fact that the girl's parents were working and lacked the time to manage her school drop-off and pick-up. Pandya took on the responsibility of transporting the girl to and from school and often invited her to play at his home.
Immediate Arrest Follows Heinous Act
According to the complaint, the deplorable act occurred on the day the accused's wife and unmarried son were away from home on work. Taking advantage of the empty house, Hasmukh Pandya sexually assaulted the minor girl at his residence.
Following the victim's family's complaint, the police immediately took action. They have detained the accused, Hasmukh alias Rishi Pandya, and initiated the necessary legal proceedings. This horrific event has sent shockwaves through the community.
