In a late-night operation, Ahmedabad&rsquo;s Bopal police raided a high-profile rave party at Zephyr Farm near Shilaj, detaining 20 people, including 13 foreign nationals, for violating Gujarat&rsquo;s liquor ban. The raid followed a tip-off about the illegal &ldquo;Hot Grabber Party,&rdquo; organised by a Kenyan national identified as John.
According to SP Omprakash Jate, &ldquo;Police raided the farmhouse after receiving information about a liquor party. We seized alcohol, hookahs, and other paraphernalia, and a complaint has been filed under the Gujarat Prohibition Act.&rdquo; The farmhouse owner, Milan Patel, was also arrested, and officials are investigating his role in facilitating the event.
Sources said passes for the party were sold for ₹700 to ₹15,000, offering &ldquo;unlimited alcohol and shisha.&rdquo; The venue featured live DJs, food counters, and a poolside setup. When media arrived, some attendees reportedly tried to flee, one car sped off with doors open. Police recovered 49 liquor bottles, nine hookahs, and items worth nearly ₹10 lakh.
Those detained include students from Gujarat University and nationals from Nigeria, Mozambique, and Kenya. Police are now tracing the organisers, suppliers, and promoters linked to the party&rsquo;s WhatsApp network. Authorities also warned that action may be taken against institutions connected to the students involved.
