The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Saturday conducted searches at multiple locations in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan as part of its investigation into the Hizb-ut-Tahrir (HuT) terror conspiracy case.
The coordinated operation included raids at three locations in Bhopal and two in Jhalawar, Rajasthan. These searches are part of the ongoing HuT Bhopal case, targeting the outfit's alleged plan to radicalise and recruit Muslim youth across India.
During the operation, the NIA seized digital devices and incriminating materials, which will undergo forensic analysis to support the investigation.
The probe agency stated that HuT members were involved in indoctrinating recruits with extremist ideology and inciting them to use violence to overthrow India&rsquo;s democratic government and install Shariah-based rule.
Founded in Jerusalem in 1953, Hizb-ut-Tahrir is a global pan-Islamist Salafi group that views jihad as a critical means of establishing Islamic governance and rejects modern nation-states as un-Islamic constructs.
The NIA reaffirmed its commitment to dismantling radical and terrorist networks in India, and further action is expected in the coming days.
