The Gujarat Anti-Terror Squad (ATS) on Thursday night recovered drugs estimated to be worth ₹100 crore from a chemical factory in Khambat&rsquo;s GIDC area. Located in Sokhada, the factory was part of an ongoing crackdown of the state agency.&nbsp;&nbsp;
According to sources, officials of Gujarat police had put the factory under surveillance for 48 hours prior to conducting the raid. Five people present at the factory have been arrested by ATS officials.&nbsp;
As per official communication, the drugs seized in the operation are used in the production of Alprazolam tablets. The factory was being run as a pharmaceutical business, a front for manufacturing illicit drugs.&nbsp;
All 5 accused have been sent to Ahmedabad, where further investigation of the case will be conducted.
State police have been on high alert after recent drug seizures from several factories in Ahmedabad. Officials are investigating different angles to crack cases.&nbsp;
