IndiGo Aircraft Makes Emergency Diversion to Nagpur Following Security Alert

An IndiGo passenger jet travelling from Kochi to Delhi was forced to make an unscheduled landing in Nagpur on Tuesday morning after authorities received a bomb threat regarding the aircraft.
The security alert was communicated through official channels concerning the IndiGo service, which had originally arrived from Muscat before continuing its journey to Delhi at 9:31 AM. The flight was carrying 157 passengers along with six crew members at the time of the incident.
Upon receiving the threat notification, airport officials immediately established a Bomb Threat Assessment Committee to evaluate the situation. After careful consideration, the committee classified the threat as credible and requiring immediate action.
Airport authorities swiftly informed all relevant security agencies about the developing situation. The flight crew was subsequently instructed to divert the aircraft to Nagpur airport, where it landed safely for comprehensive security screening procedures.
The aircraft remains on the ground at Nagpur whilst thorough inspections are being conducted by security personnel. Once all mandatory safety protocols have been completed and clearance is obtained, the flight is expected to resume its journey to Delhi.
Passengers and crew members are currently being attended to by airport staff during the security operation. No injuries have been reported in connection with the incident.
