Four people, including an eight-year-old girl, lost their lives and five others were injured in two tragic electrocution incidents in Madhya Pradesh on Friday.
In Gadarwara town of Narsinghpur district, three workers were electrocuted around 11 a.m. when a metal ladder they were moving near a &lsquo;Marriage Garden&rsquo; on Jamada Road accidentally touched an 11 kV overhead power line. Eyewitnesses reported smoke rising from the victims due to the high-voltage shock.
The deceased were identified as Piyush (26), Rajesh Pali (32), and Puran Jatav (36). Two injured individuals were hospitalized, with one in critical condition.
The incident sparked public outrage, with residents blaming the electricity department for failing to insulate the high-tension line running dangerously close to the venue.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav announced ₹2 lakh compensation for each deceased worker&rsquo;s family and ₹50,000 for the injured. An investigation has been ordered, and senior electricity officials have visited the site.
In a separate incident in Burhanpur, eight-year-old Purvi Barkane died after touching a live wire while playing near a damaged house. Two other girls, Shivani (6) and Rishika, were rescued with injuries.
Both incidents have raised serious concerns about electrical safety measures and the accountability of authorities in preventing such fatal mishaps.
