Five Burned Alive in Fiery Collision; One Critical in Bulandshahr Horror Crash
A tragic early-morning crash in the Jahangirabad police station area of Bulandshahr district has claimed five lives from the same family, with one woman critically injured and undergoing treatment. Police suspect the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel.
According to police sources, the fatal incident occurred at approximately 5:30 AM on Tuesday along the Jahangirabad&ndash;Bulandshahr road near Janipur village. The victims were travelling in a Maruti Swift car, en route to Malviya Nagar in Delhi after attending a wedding in the Chamanpur area of Badaun district.
Preliminary findings suggest that the driver, reportedly drowsy, lost control of the vehicle, which then rammed into a roadside culvert. The car overturned upon impact and immediately burst into flames. The blaze engulfed the vehicle before any of the passengers could escape.
Emergency services rushed to the scene after receiving a distress call. Teams from the Jahangirabad police and fire brigade launched a rescue operation. Despite their efforts, five of the six occupants were found charred beyond recognition. A lone survivor, identified as 28-year-old Gulnaz, was rescued in a critical state and admitted to the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Jahangirabad.
Superintendent of Police (Rural), Dr Tejvir Singh, confirmed that the remains of the deceased have been secured and the post-mortem process has commenced. &ldquo;Driver fatigue appears to be the primary cause at this stage, though a full investigation is underway,&rdquo; he stated.
Eyewitnesses described the accident as "ghastly", with the vehicle reduced to ashes within minutes. Locals attempted to assist but were thwarted by the intensity of the flames.
Police are in the process of formally identifying the victims and notifying next of kin. The incident has cast a pall of sorrow over the district, with grieving relatives arriving at the CHC and police station in a distraught state.
