The search for Suvendu Choudhary, Chief Principal Security Officer of the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR), who was swept away by the Lohit River in Arunachal Pradesh, entered its third day on November 26.
A joint search operation is underway at Parashuram Kund and surrounding areas, involving the National and State Disaster Response Forces, the Army, Indo-Tibetan Border Police, and local police. Twelve boats have been deployed for the operation, which is also focusing on areas where the river widens.
Choudhary, 55, was swept away on November 24 after visiting the Parashuram Kund pilgrimage site with his family and NFR officials. Despite immediate efforts, he has not been found. Senior NFR officials, including the Divisional Railway Manager, are coordinating with local and state authorities to facilitate the search.
The search is concentrated along the Lohit River, which lies about 48 km from Tezu, the district headquarters. The NFR, one of India&rsquo;s&nbsp;17 railway zones, is also overseeing several infrastructure projects in the northeastern states, including Arunachal Pradesh.
