A heartbreaking incident unfolded in Kandhera village of Bhuj, where 18-year-old Indira Meena, who fell into a 500-foot deep borewell on Monday morning, lost her life. 
Despite a massive 33-hour rescue operation involving the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Border Security Force (BSF), Army, fire department and the local administration, Indira could not be saved. 
During the operation, her body, which had been pulled up to 300 feet, slipped back down the borewell.
She was eventually retrieved and rushed to the hospital, where she was declared dead.
Indira&rsquo;s voice was last heard on Monday morning, after which, there had been a deafening silence on her end.
The incident has left the entire state in shock, with recent cases of borewell deaths seen in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
